About the Role

As Associate Director of Quality, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring exceptional standards of care and quality assurance across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Quality, you will work closely with operational teams to foster a culture that prioritises care excellence, safety, and clinical quality.

This role involves leading by example, ensuring robust quality assurance systems are in place, meeting regulatory standards and internal quality indicators. Your leadership will ensure that residents receive safe, high-quality care while driving continuous improvement initiatives across all services.

You will coach, mentor, and develop a team, empowering them to take ownership of ongoing quality improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you will challenge conventional approaches and establish a learning-focused culture that encourages innovation and best practice.

Additionally, you will act as the Infection Prevention Control Lead, ensuring up-to-date and fit-for-purpose policies that safeguard the health and wellbeing of both residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality assurance initiatives, ensuring care services meet and exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Implement robust quality systems to ensure the highest safety and care standards are maintained.
  • Drive continuous improvement through collaboration with operational teams, analysing data to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Support and coach direct reports, fostering accountability and personal development.
  • Work with senior colleagues to implement strategic quality and risk management solutions.
  • Provide expert regulatory advice, supporting new service developments and projects.
  • Act as the Infection Prevention Control Lead, ensuring compliance with up-to-date policies and best practices.
  • Offer professional nursing leadership, supporting the Director of Quality with any clinical training needs.

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) – 1st level (nursing home background preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Care & Quality role, with a proven track record in change management and improvement impact.
  • Leadership experience, with a history of successfully managing a team to deliver quality objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, with the ability to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify risks, themes, and trends.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence decision-making.
